Hello Troop 15 Families. It’s time for “Back to School” and also time for Back to Scouting! Scouting provides an opportunity to keep our community together, and get kids together with fun and safe activities. We look forward to welcoming everyone back with our kick off on Monday September 16th.

1. Navigation (map and compass)[GPS]
2. Sun protection (sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen)
3. Insulation (extra clothing)[including base (long underwear), mid(polar fleece, down,wool, etc), top layer (rain gear coat & pants, hat & gloves, extra socks]
4. Illumination (headlamp/flashlight)[and extra batteries]
5. First-aid supplies
6. Fire (waterproof matches/lighter/candles)
7. Repair kit and tools
8. Nutrition (extra food)
9. Hydration (extra water)[and water treatment]
10. Emergency shelter

Troop 15 Essentials for SCOUT BACKPACKING TRIP/**DAYHIKES**
1. **Ten Updated Essentials** All items encouraged, some items may be divvied.
2. Big 3: Shelter, Sleep System (sleeping bag, insulation pad, etc), **Pack**
3. Stove, mess kit (mug, spork, bowl), fuel, pot & lid, biodegradable soap
4. **Lunch/Snacks**Portion of group food/gear.
5. **Toilet paper**double wrapped in zip lock bag
6. Toothbrush/paste/floss
7. **Whistle- We are pushing all scouts to have a whistle clipped to them on hikes.**
8. **Plastic Bags + extras to keep everything dry**
9. **Appropriate footwear**
